Kiwifruit bud thinning involves thnning out kiwifruit buds on the vines . This process is crucial for ensuring a successful fruit harvest later in the year. It's a hands-on out door experience that allows you to learn about the kiwifruit industry firsthand.
Jobs Available
We help long-term guests at our hostel find jobs. Come and stay in beautiful Mount Manganui, meet some new travel buddies, enjoy the nightlife and hit the beach on your days off. 
About the Role:
  • Commitment: 3 months of work (October, November, December).
  • Transportation: We provide an 11-seater van for transport to the orchard. Once the van is full, the team will need to carpool.
  • Requirements: Must enjoy outdoor work, be physically fit, and be at least 160cm tall to reach the vines.
  • No experience necessary: Full training will be provided.
  • Reliability: Workers must consistently show up on time. After three late arrivals, your spot may be given to someone else, as the orchard management requires reliable and hardworking individuals.
  • Work hours: 8 hours per day, 5-6 days per week. Working hours may be adjusted in case of rain.

  • You must book accommodation and stay at Pacific Coast Lodge & Backpackers to be eligible for the job I Valid Working Holiday Visa I NZ Bank Account and IRD Number

  • Work starts in early October, so you must arrive early to secure a spot and sign a contract.
